Split a PDF into separate files or pull out just the pages you need — free and 100% in your browser, so your document is never uploaded. Extract a page range into one PDF, or break a large PDF into several and download them together as a ZIP.

How to split a PDF

  1. Open your PDF. Drop a PDF onto the box or click to choose one, and every page appears as a thumbnail.
  2. Choose extract or split. Switch between Extract (pick the exact pages you want) and Split (break the PDF into several files by count or by ranges).
  3. Select pages or ranges. Click thumbnails to select them or type ranges like 1-3, 8; for splitting, choose every N pages or list the ranges you want.
  4. Export. Extract gives you one new PDF; Split gives you several files bundled into a ZIP you can download.

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. The PDF is opened and split entirely in your browser on your own device, so it is never uploaded and stays private.

Is it free and do I need an account?

Yes, it's completely free with no sign-up.

What's the difference between Extract and Split?

Extract pulls the pages you pick into a single new PDF. Split breaks the whole PDF into several files — every N pages, or by the ranges you list — and zips them together.

Can I split a PDF by page ranges?

Yes. In Split mode, enter ranges like “1-3, 4-6, 7-10” and each range becomes its own PDF.

Does the text stay selectable after splitting?

Yes. Pages are copied intact rather than flattened to images, so selectable text and quality are preserved.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes, it runs in any modern mobile browser.
